For those people who aspires to wed must first register themselves and take the marrige course with Majlis Ugama Islam (MUI). It would cost RM80 for a 2 days course. You will then be given a Certificate to register your marriage with the Jabatan Hal Ehwal Agama Islam.
If your partner comes from outstation, say other States, he or she must register at that State and send the documents to be registered at the place of marriage. I thought getting married is as easy as 1-2-3, but a lot of bureaucracy, isnt it?
They said divoce cases are increasing and the reason to organize such a course.
Whatever it is, the marriage registration should be facilitated as I understand it would also take some time for the documents to be registered!
